The Cradock boys are qualified Agricultural Engineers.
Ian “Daddy Bear” Cradock put himself through a City and Guilds 015 Agricultural Mechanics course at Lackham Agricultural College. Ian then spent four years working for TH White. In 1986 Ian took the opportunity to start his own business with his father Robert Henry Cradock. This led to the incorporation of RH & IR Cradock Ltd.
Benjy followed in his Dad’s footsteps as soon as he left school. He landed an apprenticeship with Claas UK at the Vaughn Agri dealership in Frome. Benjy then spent four years in Somerset working for agricultural contractors both directly and under his own company. Having been bitten by the travel bug he the spent 6 years travelling between Australia, New Zealand and Antarctica where he developed his skills and a passion for overland travel. Benjy is now Workshop Manager at New Barn Farm.
Ash also pursued the family trade attending Lackham Agricultural College. Ash firstly studied Motorsport Engineering, later converting to Agricultural Engineering. After college Ash worked for TH White in Marlborough. In 2014 Ash joined Benjy in Australia, spending the next six years working between a family farm in Western Australia and his own family farm in Wiltshire. Ash is now Farm Manager at New Barn Farm.
As Agricultural Engineers, all three boys have a passion for vintage and classic tractors and machinery. Between them they have repaired and restored numerous machines. Agricultural Engineering, Repairs, Restoration and Maintenance are a key of aspect of the Workshop business.
